there’s one pretty special man in my life… and he just turned 80!

godly. selfless. giving. loving. wise. laughter. integrity. rock. strength. legacy. humility.
these are just some of the words i would use to describe who he is.

after the months of planning, my sister-in-law jess finally got hitched.  jess has always been the super spontaneous one of the fam… as you can see by her choosing to do a beach wedding… in michigan… in may.  well, the risk paid off!  we enjoyed a beautiful day celebrating a wonderful couple. i’m a little sad it’s all over with!  anyways, there’s always the pics.

tonight the conversation went something like this between me & my husband:

nate: “so… you want to go out for dinner thursday night?”
me:   (stop.  look up from my computer – somewhat confused)
         “ummm… sure.” (still a little confused)
         “why are we going out?”  (we don’t usually set dates like this)
nate: “our anniversary is on wednesday.”

and all this from the wife who made her husband program the garage code with our anniversary date so HE wouldn’t forget! (guess it worked)

it makes me laugh to think how love changes.  love use to be the roses left on my car – after he’d take it to get the oil changed – filled up with gas – and washed –  while i was at work.  now emptying the dishwasher evokes the same feeling.  love use to be those extravagant birthday gifts – which reminds me of this really nice ping pong table that sits in the corner of our basement – unused.  now a simple card does the trick. here’s another perfect example which defines love:

it’s my husband and father-in-law spending their entire saturday working on the brick wall in my new studio.  for me, that pretty much sums it up. 

nate has always been one who pushes me to follow my dreams – setting his aside to put mine first.  thanks for putting up with me baby!  i love you… more.

children or not, we are created to love. 

to all of you who give your love unselfishly & unconditionally…

there’s something about being two… and deciding that you’re not going to do what the photographer would like.  we tried it all.  little miss anna decided that she was going to wear that crown and nobody was going to tell her differently!  

gotta love being two.
