so i’m on this new kick.  i’ve fallen hard.  there’s just something i love about… video.  i think that if i were to do it all over yet again – a video person (what are they called – a videographer?) would make it to the top of the list.  moving images put to music does me in every time!  some of my favorite family memories are when my dad broke out the classic 8mm films – you know, the ones with just the picture… sound hadn’t quite made it on the scene yet? for a brief moment, time was erased.  the past suddenly became the present.  

so on to my next kick – documenting the people that mean the most to me.  for some reason they always get pushed to the back burner.  well, not any more!  or maybe i should say, not this past weekend!

it was the classic fall day.  immensely overcast – random sprinkles – a gusty wind… can you say perfect beach day?! i packed up my precious little nieces and drove to the quaint little town of empire, michigan to ‘go play on the toys’ which for those of you who can put two and two together was code for ‘taking pictures’.

i knew the love was mutual when i heard a winey voice say, “aunt kris.  why do we always have to take picture first before we can do anything fun.”  oh the love – followed up by, “no i don’t want to do that.  i want to play.  are we done yet?” 

so here’s to all of you who think your kids are the only ones who don’t love having their pictures taken – or my all time favorite, “are other peoples kids ever THIS bad?”

here i go.  i’ve been tagged by my wonderful friend and amazing photographer amy.
amy is that one person who always guarantees a good time…  and since no post is fun without pics, i’ve included some fall favorites.

1. What are your nicknames?
my earliest was “the general” – something to do with being bossy.  otherwise, nothing too special.
i answer to any form of kristin –  kris, kristi, or crusty if you were my brothers.   concha for all you espanol lovers.

2. What game show and/or reality show would you like to be on?
the price is right.  i use to fake sick in elementary school just so i could stay home and watch it.  

3. What was the first movie you bought on DVD or VHS?
easy – pretty woman.  when in doubt watch pretty woman.  it still ranks as one of my favs.
i know someone who can recite the entire movie word for word – no lie. 
 
4. What is your favorite scent?
truth be told here… my sense of smell is not my finest.  that’s not to say i can’t smell, i just can’t tell many smells apart.  i also won’t be the first one to identify a dirty diaper.  it’s a blessing and a curse.

5. If you had one million dollars that you could only spend on yourself, what would you do with it?
only on myself?  bring on the shopping cart!  i’d also have some really nice camera equipment.

6. What one place have you visited that you can’t forget and want to go back?
hawaii

7. Do you trust easily?
no

8. Do you think before you act, or act before you think?
think before i act – i have a decision making problem according to my husband.

9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy lately?
yes – the storms of life that some are enduring & mean people in general.

10. Do you have a good body image?
oh sure.  whatever that is!

11. What is your favorite fruit?
 mmmmm….. watermelon

12. What websites do you visit daily?
ummm… too many.  i think this was addressed in a previous thread.

13. What have you been seriously addicted to lately?
naps.  yes i love them and i’m not afraid to admit it.

14. What is the last song you got stuck in your head?
the “final jeopardy” song  (i use it at school – the kids like it)

15. What is your favorite item of clothing?
 i heart sweatshirts – especially hoodies.  they are the first thing i put on when i get home.  

16. Do you think Rice Krispies are yummy?
yes – especially in bar form.

17. What would you do if you found $100 laying on the ground?
think it was fake. see #7.

18. What items could you not go without during the day?
some kind of juice to drink – or my gatorade.

19. What should you be doing right now?
working on peoples pictures, or maybe cleaning off my kitchen table so that we could eat on it.

20. Name 3 people who should be tagged.
